Week 14 - Friday 17th June - Monday 27th June

Pinnarendi Station
Star Rating:★★★★

★=Full Star☆=Half a Star

When I think of Pinnarendi Station I think of warmdelicious, fresh, sourdough, woodfired pizzas! The other things I think about is the stunning and diverse walk we went on (one of their cute dogs came with us), the massive termite mounds and the other delectable foods we got.

At Pinnarendi Station we spotted some humongous termite mounds, some were even taller than my Dad... and my Dad's tall!

Next to our camp were three old trucks. They were really rusty!

Lake Tinaroo

Star Rating:★★★★

★=Full Star☆=Half a Star

At Lake Tinaroo Dad got the slack line out and I had heaps of fun balancing across it, I made it further than halfway. We also found Jackson's pogo stick in the boot of the van. It was actually pretty fun, even though we were jumping on rocks. The rest of the time we swam (the water averaged to around 22 degrees - nice and warm), went on walks and just relaxed.

 Sunset over Lake Tinaroo.

We went on a rainforest walk and everything was so beautiful!💖 Except the LEECHES! There were heaps of those disgusting, blood sucking little things!
When we went on the rainforest walk (with all the leeches) we found a HUGE tree. It was MASSIVE and super tall!

At the lake we were staying next to there was dam wall and to keep the water from over flowing there was a pipe that pumped water in and shot it out into the air! It looked awesome.

Mum and I thought these birds were cute until we heard there nickname.....Murder birds!!! They have earned that nickname because in the night you can hear them scream!😱 They are actually called curlews.

Cairns

Star Rating:★★★★

★=Full Star☆=Half a Star

When we were at Cairns we had two and 1/2 awesome days with our cousins, we also had a couple of days by ourselves. This is all the fun things we did:

We went up to Kuranda and met our cousins up there and looked around the markets, we also had a mouthwatering pizza, it was delectable!
We had heaps of fun whizzing down the water slides and splashing into the pool, we also had fun swimming in the pools and splashing in the splash park.
We spent a bit of time putting 'round the mini golf course. It was super fun!
We went down to the Cairns foreshore and went for a walk around.
The rest of the things we did are in the photos below. We had heaps of fun at Cairns.

We went to the Kuranda Rainforest Market and Dad got us a huge slice of fresh pizza! It was yum!

My Dad and my Uncle Matt had to go and help some fairies (it was National Fairy Day) get a unicorn (a fake unicorn chair) out of the back of a ute!

We went for a little walk and we reached the lookout for Barron Falls, a magnificent water fall that gushes down in the wet season and gets reduced to a trickle in the dry season.

There was one of the many great views from up in the mountains at Kuranda.

There was two water slides at the park we were staying at, one big and one small. When our cousins arrived we had heaps of fun whizzing down the slides in a train. Most of the time it worked and we stayed together.....but sometimes it didn't and we fell apart into little groups!👇

Our campsite was on the back boundary fence which was right next to the sugar cane train track. It was awesome to see the trains rattle past, with their carriages loaded with sugar cane.
One morning Jackson and I did archery, it was super fun. There was seven targets that we had to try to hit.

There was a mini golf course at the caravan park and we had lots of fun putting the balls around!👇

We had to drag Logan and Jenna out of the splash park so they could leave!👇
