Geehi #2
Star Rating:★★★★☆

On the second part of Geehi, Dad took me far up the river so
I could kayak down the rapids to camp. It was really fun and I only got stuck
on rocks a couple of times. Later that day the whole family hiked to Old Geehi
and Keebles hut. All the old huts and buildings were really solid and cool. We
had to walk across a river crossing to get there, it was really refreshing.
The next day my Dad and I rode up a mountain and saw a great
view of the campsite.

Jindabyne
Star Rating:★★★☆

On the way to Jindabyne we stopped at Dead Horse Gap
(thankfully there are no actual dead horses there). We had breakfast (toast and a hot
chocolate) there. When we got to Jindabyne we stayed in a caravan park- showers
at last!! My brother and I really enjoyed clambering up these huge rocks that
were full of giant blue tongue lizards. We stayed here for 2 nights, there was
a beautiful sunset on the 2nd night when the sky went fluro orange,
pink and yellow.
We went on 12 km walk to a huge dam where we saw weird animal
bones at the bottom of the dam wall. There was a cool information centre that
was nearly like a museum, I enjoyed looking through it.
I went with my brother and Dad to go fishing, but I got a
bit bored! They caught 3 fish that we ate at the Snowy River.

Snowy
Star Rating:★★★★
★=Full Star☆=Half a Star
I usually love it when we go to the Snowy, but this time it
was a bit dreary so it was not as amazing as it normally is. We still got to
run around a lot outside and we got to have two (very short) swims. My brother
and I loved collecting freshwater mussels that were scattered around everywhere
in the river.. We collected thirty all together!!! We ate half of one each and it
tasted disgusting but Dad said we had to eat it so I quickly swallowed my piece
whole with some help from my water bottle! My brother complained and pulled a
couple of faces before finally swallowing his (and then nearly vomiting it back
up!). The next morning when we all went for a walk and my brother and I picked up
the hobby of tadpole hunting, they felt so slimy when you finally caught one.
One of the most exciting parts of the Snowy is all the brumbies (wild horses). It
is really cool to see them running, which is exactly what my dad and I saw when
we went for our morning run and ride (Dad running and me riding). The brumby was
beautiful and in good condition, unlike most brumbies. I was really sad I did
not bring my camera! On our last night here I made apple and blackberry crumble, it was yum!

| There was a small, deep pool with lots of tadpoles. |

| We saw a daddy Emu with its two chicks. |

| My brother and I were both really exited to eat the mussel but......... |
 |
| Blehhhh!!!! |
 |
| I gulped my one down. |
 |
| Jackson's piece got stuck in his throat. |
 |
| We saw three brumbies on the drive to Orbost, one is hard to see. It is hiding in the bushes. |
