Carnarvon Gorge

In Carnarvon Gorge there was heaps of walks, and we did them all! All together over the four days we were there we did up to fifty five km. The first full day we were at Carnarvon Gorge we did the longest walk (it was called Big Bend) and a couple of side tracks which totalled to over twenty five km! Our legs were super tired! We did all the other tracks over the rest of the time we were at Carnarvon Gorge. When we weren't walking we were relaxing back at our breathtaking campsite.

| There were lots of river crossings that were super fun to balance over! |

| When we were at Carnarvon Gorge we swam in a swimming hole called The Rockpools every afternoon. It was freezing!👆👇 |
| In this photo there are two baby turtles on a log! Can you spot them? |
| ☝We saw heaps of cute kangaroos, some with joeys!👇 |
| We saw a tree that had attached itself to a rock and had broken the rock in half! |
👇The Gorge was amazing, there was sheer cliff faces on each side!👇
There was some amazing Indigenous stencil and rock art at Carnarvon Gorge! The art that looks like nets shows that Indigenous elders were buried here.
| There was a spectacular pool called the reflective pool and when you skimmed a rock in the water, the sun projected the ripples that the rock had made onto the sandstone above it! |
| Jackson and I loved playing on a massive rock that was in front of our camp. We liked to see who could throw a rock the farthest off the rock! |
We saw a wonderful rainbow that was right above our camp!
One morning we climbed up to a beautiful lookout, there was an amazing view. We were on the edge of the Gorge! |
All the side tracks we went on were amazing and the end destinations of the side tracks were absolutely sensational!👇
One of the side walking tracks was called Moss Garden and there was heaps of cute little waterfalls in it. The track was called Moss Garden because at the end destination moss had started to grow from the rock walls! It was a sacred place to Indigenous Australians that once lived around Carnarvon Gorge.👇
👇There was some super cute platypuses swimming around in a little creek! We saw three of them altogether.👇
| When we went on the Big Bend walk Dad spotted a snake on the path, its colours were amazing! |
When we were at Carnarvon Gorge we stayed at an awesome camping park called Sandstone Park, it was based on top of a hill so we got to see some super colourful sunrises and sunsets!

Lake Nuga Nuga

At Lake Nuga Nuga we were camped right next to the lake, on the other side of it there was a huge, rocky mountain that I climbed twice! Most of the time at Lake Nuga Nuga we spent resting our tired legs, relaxing in the hammock, climbing the mountain and kayaking out to go swimming.
The sunrises and sunsets at Lake Nuga Nuga were to match Carnarvon Gorge, if not better! Decide for yourself with the photos down below!
| 👇Everywhere around our campsite was beautiful!👇 |
| On the lake there was heaps of beautiful water lillies. We learnt that even though water👇 lillies are beautiful they are very hard to kayak through!👆 |
| Because we had been without a supermarket for so long we had no bread left, so Dad baked some for us. It was yum! |
| The first time Dad, Jackson and I climbed the mountain we only climbed up half way, but there was still an incredible view! Later that day Dad and Jackson climbed to the top of the mountain, but I stayed back at camp with Mum. |
In the end we all climbed to the top of the mountain after Dad and Jackson mapped out a track up the rocky cliff. It was super hard to climb it but in the end the view was rewarding.👇 |
| When the water was still the mountain reflected into it. It looked incredible!👇 |
There was heaps of elegant birds flying round.👇
