Rossville  Retreat

Star Rating:★★★

★=Full Star☆=Half a Star

After a long day of driving we finally arrived at Rossville around three o'clock (we left early but we also stopped off at a market and a Woolworths to get more food). As soon as we set up we drove down to the Lions Den Hotel and had a Fanta, then when we got back Dad, Jackson and I went down to explore the river! The next day we spent most of the day down at the waters edge, it was super fun!

Dad got the slackline out and we had heaps of fun on it.

We went to the Lions Den Hotel.

We played a couple of games of pool, it was fun.

We had heaps of fun going down some fast flowing rapids!

We met a girl named Ava and she had a blow up air mattress.....we had a great time going down the the rapids on the air mattress with her! 👇

Cooktown
Star Rating:★★★

★=Full Star☆=Half a Star

When we were at Cooktown we jam packed a lot into the five days we were there …… Dad and Jackson climbed Mount Cook, Mum and I walked to Finch Bay and Cherry Tree Bay, Mum and I had a little look at the Botanical Gardens, we all had a look at two museums (both were awesome), we walked along the wharf, we had fish and chips, Dad and Jackson spent a heap of time fishing (they only caught two smallish trevally). That is only the start of everything we did! Our time in Cooktown was super fun……the only bad thing was the we got attacked by sandflies!

We went to a museum with beautiful paintings of when Captain James Cook first arrived on the Endeavour!👆👇

There was a mini version of the Endeavour, it looked awesome!

The Captain Cook statue!

We had fish and chips for dinner one night, it was yum!

Mum and I went for a walk to two secluded bays called Finch Bay and Cherry Tree Bay, they were beautiful, there was also a heap of other beautiful bits of nature!👇

It found a piece of bark that was bright red the tree it was from was called a Red Beech Golden Guinea Tree (really long name)!

I made a sign with driftwood (it said beach) it was super fun making it and finding all the right pieces !👇

I saw a beautiful hanging vine on mine and Mum's walk to the bays.

We saw an awesome view from a lookout we found!

The Indigenous Australians(from this area) yearly hunting schedule (sorry it's the wrong way).👆

I found a massive stick insect, can you spot it?

The Reconciliation Rocks area (below) is where Captain Cook first made peace with the Indigenous people of the area. The black feather represents the Indigenous people of the area and the white feather represents Captain James Cook and his men.👇🏻👇🏿

I thought this looked cool!
