At Darwin I got to hold a croc, eat a massive ice-cream and have dinner out! These are all the other fun things we did at Darwin:
- We had dinner out at a Thai restaurant and I had spring rolls for entrée, Pad Thai with chicken for main course and for dessert I got a fried banana with ice-cream, it was all yum!
- We went to Crocosaurus Cove and we got to watch a snake eat a rat, hold multiple animals, feed a juvenile croc, hold a baby croc (and take photos with it) and watch some massive crocs (some of them were around 5.5 metres) get fed by their keepers! It was awesome!
- We went to the Mindil Markets and I bought an Indigenous painting and a piece of Blue Cypress wood shaped into a heart. I got the heart from Kakadu Blue (Kakadu Blue is a business that has heaps of Blue Cypress products) and I also got a massive ice cream that was yum!
- We had lots of fun in the water as there were multiple huge pools at the caravan park and we went down and splashed about at the Darwin Waterfront.
That is all we did at Darwin, but on the day we left we also revisited Katherine and this time we stayed there as the water tank had came loose and we had to get a new strap to hold it in. |
| Before we went to the Thai restaurant we watched the sunset down at a pub, Jackson and I each got a lemonade! |
| My delectable dessert at the Thai restaurant we went to! |
| At Crocosaurus Cove I got to hold a Blue tongued lizard and.... |
…I even got convinced to hold a snake!
There were some super cute little turtles in a tank!👇 |
| We went fishing for crocs! The 'rods' were a sturdy stick with wire on the end and a piece of meat on the end of the wire and to 'fish' for them we dangled the meat. |
| Baby crocodile pile!👆 |
We watched some of the crocs get fed and it was scary watching them gulp down their meal whilst behind thick metal bars.....I can only imagine how scared the keepers that were feeding the crocodiles felt!
There were heaps of huge saltwater crocs at Crocosaurus Cove, they looked cool in there enclosures but I would not like to meet one whilst I was swimming!👇 |
| There was an awesome Frilled Neck lizard that loved to strike a pose for photos, sadly it didn't fluff its neck up for us. |
| I got to hug a baby crocodile! |
| Omg, there's a croc on my head! |
| The sunset on Mindil Beach.☝ |
| We got a huge spring roll to watch the sunset with, it was yum. |
| I had pork dim-sims and a big chicken dim-sim for dinner at the Mindil Markets. |
I got a MASSIVE ice-cream with a weird flavour combo...chunky chocolate and lemon sorbet anyone?
Whilst eating my ice cream I watched a man that was from Italy juggle fire!👇 |
| Whilst at the Darwin foreshore Dad, Jackson and I went on an inflatables course, it was like Aqua Moves (the inflatable course on the Lake Mulwala) only this one was a bit bigger. I may have flashed my butt a couple of times...so you should not wear bikinis on an aqua park! |
| Whilst at Katherine we went down to the river and waded through it. |

At Wuggubun (our first camp spot in Western Australia) we had a delightful time swimming in the little creek and relaxing at our picturesque camp. On the second night we were there we drove up to a lookout on a mountain to watch the sunset.
| We made it to Western Australia! |
| We went to a lookout above our campsite and there was a great view. |
| We watched a bit of the sunset from the lookout, the mountains looked amazing! |
| We saw some beautiful Boab trees. |
Wolf Creek Crater and Palm Springs, WA
Star Rating:★★★☆

At Wolf Creek Crater we forgot half (mine and Jackson's half) of the bedding so courtesy of that mistake, Jackson and I had a very uncomfortable sleep....I was sleeping in a sleeping bag on the hard ground without a mat and Jackson was sleeping on some of the car's sunblinds with the picnic rug folded over the top to make his bed a bit comfer! Mum and Dad slept on their normal mats with a sleeping bag over the top of them both, and Jackson was sharing it to! That night we had walked around the crater at sunset and nearly fell off as we started it too late and it was dark before we knew it, but the sunset looked stunning from up the top! Before we left we journeyed inside the crater and it was incredible, there were millions of flowers (the flowers were native cotton), it was also so hot that it felt like it was 50 degrees outside even though it was before 7:00am! After we drove back to Halls Creek to collect the caravan (we left the van at Halls Creek, which is an outback town, because the road into the crater was meant to be bad) we went and set up at Palm Springs and swam in the waterhole for the rest of the afternoon.
Up on Wolfe Creek Crater (there was a great view).👇

There was a super cute and confident little lizard that let me get up close to take a photo!
The sunset up on the crater was magical!👇 |
| When we went down into the crater, it felt super cool! |
| In the crater there were thousands of flowers-later on we found out that the flowers were native cotton. |
| At Palm Springs, Jackson and I climbed a rocky mountain and there was a great view from the top. |
| This is the magnificent swimming hole at Palm Springs. |
There was an old house with an awesome old windmill close to our camp at Palm Springs.
