North Lefroy Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA: Day one
★=Full Star ☆=Half a Star
On the day we arrived at North Lefroy Bay we:
- Went snorkelling straight out from our camp but there wasn’t much to see, but when we went snorkelling up at Winderabandi Point we saw lots of pristine fish and coral…. Mum even saw a reef shark!
- Put our chairs down on the beach and watched the sunset, Jackson and I got bored so we made up a game where we had to try and spear a fish (with Jacksons wooden spear) that we had drawn in the sand, I was very bad at it!
The view from our campsite, it was beautiful.

North Lefroy Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA: Day two

On our second day at North Lefroy we all got very tired
whilst we were doing all this:
- We drove to South Lefroy and whilst Dad and Jackson went spear fishing with the kayak, Mum and I went snorkelling against the very hard current… in the end we had to get out, walk up about three hundred meters, get back in, swim out and float back down in the current to the car. We saw lots of big and beautiful fish, I also saw three massive star fish, one was black and two were bright blue!
- When we got back the boys started fishing (again) and even though I was already tired Mum convinced me to WALK up to Winderabandi point (last time we drove) and go snorkelling, big mistake! We were gone for about three hours and only half an hour of that was spent snorkelling, The snorkelling was fun even though the rest of it was super tiring. We saw a stingray, a smallish starfish and on the walk back we found a cute little starfish that had been washed up on that beach. I got an old clam shell and rescued the starfish and when I put in the water the sand washed off it and it was white with little blue spots.
- That night we watched the sunset and Dad cooked some delectable beef ribs and mine was delicious. After dinner we made a small fire in a fire pit on the beach and sat around it for a while and when we looked up at the sky the stars were beautiful!

Because the football was flat, Jackson and I played a game where we had to try and hit the other person with the flat football, Jackson got super sandy!
When we were at South Lefroy the clouds looked cool so we were looking forward to the sunset that night. The magnificent sunset, the clouds were incredible!👇
North Lefroy Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA: Day three

What we did on our third day at North Lefroy:
- In the morning Mum and I went for a walk along the beach, there were heaps of starfish washed up on shore, we picked them up and put them back in the water to save them from being toasted in the hot sun.
- Because it was blowing a gale, we went for a drive to Boat Harbour and on the way we drove up track that took us to the top of a sand dune. From up there we spotted lots of very big turtles and even a large shark!
- At Boat Harbour the boys went fishing, whilst Mum and I went for a walk along the beach. We collected some pretty shells, as there were heaps.
- When we got back Jackson and I had fun playing with an old piece of foam mat that had some string connected to it, because it was so windy it flew up in the air. Our game was stopped short when Dad caught a two meter shovel nosed shark (we couldn't keep it so he carefully dragged it back into the water once he got the hook out)!

To pick up the starfish we put our hands on either side of of them and dig up a lump of sand with the starfish on the top/in the middle.

North Lefroy Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA: Day four

What we did on our fourth day at North Lefroy:
- In the morning we just relaxed so when we got South Lefroy we were ready to snorkel….I saw some starfish, lots of fish and a huge (at least two meters) shark that was not a reef shark!
- Whilst everyone else went for another snorkel I lay my towel out in the shade of the car and watched them, I did not last for long though as the sand was spinning in whirl winds under the car! I had to sit up against the wheel to get away from all the sandy wind!

North Lefroy Bay, Ningaloo Reef, WA: Day five
★=Full Star ☆=Half a Star
What we did on our fifth day at North Lefroy:
- Just after we woke up, Mum, Jackson and I went on a walk to look at starfish, but there weren't many (which was good as that means they hadn't been washed up).
- In the morning, before lunch, I made some shell keyrings in the cubby Jackson made. I worked in there as it was super windy everywhere else.
- That afternoon we went to the place where we saw lots of turtles on the third day and Dad and Jackson went fishing off the rocks. Mum and I walked around to a little bay which was super cute. We also saw lots of turtles poke their heads up as if to say “Hello”!

On our second last day at North Lefroy we:
- In the morning Mum and I went on another walk to save starfish but there weren't many up on the beach, same as the day before. Whilst Mum and I were walking the boys kayaked out to a large coral bomb and caught two big fish with the spear gun, one was another Sweetlip and the other one we did not know what it was, but it was BIG.
- We stayed at camp until past 1 o’clock and then we left for South Lefroy. On the way we spotted a familiar car and caravan, it was Willow, Harper and their parents, the family we met at 80 Mile Beach! We all agreed to meet at their camp that afternoon.
- At South Lefroy we went snorkelling and I saw two turtles, millions of pretty and colourful fish, five bright blue starfish and three reef sharks. One of the reef sharks was just swimming around the coral, one of them darted out from under a rock ledge speeding after a fish and the last one was under the rock ledge the second shark had come out of, it was big!
- That night we went down to our friend's camp and, along with some of their other friends, we dug a big hole that was wide enough to fit five of us in there (the five girls, as there were six kids but only 1 boy, which was Jackson). That night we ate some of the Sweetlip (beer battered) for dinner and it was delicious!
Can you spot the starfish in the sand, it dug itself into the sand as soon as I dropped it in the water!
On our last day at North Lefroy we relaxed in the morning and then packed up and left for Coral Bay. Even though I loved swimming in the salty water and feeling the sand between my toes as soon as I stepped out of the caravan, I am going to enjoy a shower at Coral Bay! My hair is super crusty and has so much salt in it, that when I shake my head when I am eating whatever I am eating turns into a salt bath!
