Week 31- Sunday 16th - Monday 24th October

Bullara Station, WA

Bullara Station was great. We went for a walk around the station on the afternoon we got there and there was heaps of stuff to see. There were lots of animals and metal sculptures, and we even saw a huge bull. In the morning, before we left, we all got a fresh scone with jam and cream, it was so yum. Bullara Station was beautiful.

There were lots of beautiful horses, my favourite horse was white with a dirty white mane.

At Osprey Bay there were turtles galore! The turtles were all super calm, they were close to shore and you could get up really close to them, which was great because I had just got the underwater camera I ordered at Coral Bay.

The underwater camera has:

  • Heaps of attachments so it can go on bike helmets and on bike handle bars.
  • A tightly sealed case so when you put the camera (the actual camera is miniature and it can not go under water) in the case it can go underwater.
  • The ability to take videos and it takes great photos.

The camera is awesome and I have already used it to take photos at Osprey, Turquoise Bay and at Lakeside (not sure why it is called that as it isn't beside a lake).

**You can see some of my underwater photos at the end of this blog**

Whilst at Osprey I snorkelled Lakeside twice. The first time I went with Mum, Dad and Jackson and we saw heaps of fish and two turtles. It was super beautiful and there was heaps of bright coral. The second time I went to Lakeside I just went with Mum and before we actually went in the water we spent about 2 hours working at the Visitors Information centre which was super close to Lakeside. When we did actually get in the water the visibility wasn't great but we still went in because we had been sitting on our butts for so long!! We saw a turtle, lots of fish and a massive catfish. When we all went to Turquoise Bay it wasn't as amazing as other places we'd snorkelled, but we did see a super cute turtle and lots of fish swarmed together, eating.

When we were at Osprey, Mum and I paddle boarded and kayaked out to a mooring point where you could tie off your paddle board/kayak and go snorkelling. When we had finally securely tied off the paddle board and kayak, we went in for a snorkel. We were blown away! There was heaps of mega coral bombes with millions of tropical fish swimming round then, massive schools of thousands of the same species of fish and bright coral every where you looked. Mum and I saw a massive (at least 2 meters) whaling shark under a ledge! Dad and I also went and snorkelled it again on another day and everything was just as beautiful!

Every day we snorkelled around in the shallows and saw all the beautiful turtles. On our last day we went out on the kayak and paddle board and found a massive coral bombe. It was beautiful and when we got back in to shore we went for another swim with the turtles, before we left and headed back to South Lefroy (so I could take some photos with all the magnificent coral over there). Osprey Bay was beautiful!

At Osprey we ate some of the burgers we got at Bullara Station, they were so good- so much better than the supermarket burger patties (I may have eaten it like a toddler and ended up with food on my face)!

The beautiful sunsets.👇

During our second time at South Lefroy we went on some awesome snorkels, we mostly saw bright coral and beautiful playful fish. The best things we saw were turtles, sharks and stingrays.....and we even saw an amazing, massive Eagle Ray (you should Google them, they are incredible). When we weren't snorkelling we were relaxing and I made a small bag out of a pair of my old jeans. Our second time at South Lefroy was definitely as much fun as the first time we stayed there.

When we went for a short walk at Yardie Creek (on our way to South Lefroy) and we found a couple of trees that where FULL of bats. There were heaps of them and they were super cool to watch (and listen to).

The bats - can you spot them?

The beautiful sunsets.👇
