Christmas, Wellington National Park

On the way to Wellington Dam (where we had decided to spend Christmas) we drove past a pine plantation and got a free Christmas tree! As soon as we parked the van and set up, we decorated it. Though with 12 baubles and a little bit of tinsel the decorations were somewhat limited! I also made a wreath out of a spiky plant and some gumnuts, it looked super cool. The next day was Xmas Eve and we spent most of the day swimming and cooking for the next day, we also video called Dad's side of the family who were having there annual Christmas party (seeing them made us all a bit homesick). That afternoon, for a late lunch, we had a seafood feast!! There was: Crayfish, Prawns, Salmon and Mango salad- it was all yum!
The next day was Christmas. Jackson and I got up at 6.15am and had a look in our stockings, I got a butterfly clip, a box of mini Mentos, a delicious smelling Christmas soap and a Ztringz rainbow rope. After we had shown Mum and Dad everything from our stockings we went outside. On my chair, in my Xmas sack, were all my presents from Santa. The main things I got were: a slinky, a kite, a macramΓ© kit and a skirt and hat. As soon as we had finished opening all the presents, and our excitement had died down a tiny bit, we moved onto the presents from Mum and Dad, which were under the Christmas tree. My favourite presents from Mum and Dad were a dress, a cropped tee from Cotton On, a silver anklet with stars on it and two beautiful books (that were not from the op shop). Mum and Dad also gave me a macramΓ© kit, a Cadbury chocolate stocking and some comfy socks. Soon after, we ate breakfast which was a delicious meal of French toast. To work off breakfast we went in for a swim, it was cool but fun-for the rest of the day we pretty much ate then swam, ate then swam!!! For lunch we had a delectable platter with twiggy sticks, prosciutto, dips, cheese, carrot sticks, smoked salmon and biscuits. As dinner was taking a while to cook we ate dessert first, which was great as it meant that we enjoyed it more without being too full of Christmas ham! Speaking of ham, for Christmas dinner we had pineapple, honey and maple glazed ham, delicious potato and sweet potato salad (with sundried tomato and prosciutto) and BBQ asparagus. Christmas day was awesome!
The next day, Boxing Day, I played with my presents, and swam. Jackson and I also decorated a gingerbread house, which we ate over the next couple of days-it was tasty. For dinner that night we had turkey with cranberry sauce-we had Christmas for three days!!!! The next day I also just played with my presents and swam, as well as doing some mountain biking. That night we packed up a bit because we left early the next morning.
