Gibb River Road (part 2), WA
Days Nine and Ten
Mt Elizabeth Station
Star Rating:★★★★
★=Full Star ☆=Half Star
At Mt Elizabeth Station we:
- Drove out to Warla Gorge where we enjoyed relaxing on the sandy beach and swimming in the cool water.
- Explored the old homestead. We found lots of old cars and even a couple of bikes!
- Spotted a Death Adder on the side of the road whilst driving back to camp, it was cool to watch it slither off into the bushes. I was glad we saw it when we were in the car and not when we were walking!!
- Bumped along a very rocky track with some friends we had met to get to Wunnamurra Gorge. The stunning gorge was worth the drive in and it was really fun playing on the sandbank that was in the middle of the river. We also climbed along the rocks to get to the dry cave behind the waterfall-it was awesome.
- Enjoyed a delicious dinner up at the homestead. We had fresh steak, homemade sausages and roasted veggies-the steak was delicious! For dessert we got black-forest cake and apple crumble!

Days Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen
Manning Gorge
Star Rating:★★★★☆
★=Full Star ☆=Half Star
At Manning Falls we:
- Spent the whole day swimming in the river that was next to camp. We had heaps of fun swinging on the rope swing we found with the friends we made at Mt Elizabeth Station.
- Walked up to Manning Falls-Jackson and I were the first ones to jump off the highest rock! We had heaps of fun swimming around and behind the waterfall and jumping off the rocks with our friends.
- Drove to two different gorges, Adcock and Galvans. At Adcock we saw a huge water monitor on the walk in and we were able to follow it to the gorge! We had the place to ourselves and enjoyed swimming in the cool water. At Galvans Gorge we found an awesome rope swing that we had heaps of fun on. You had to balance out on a tree and use a long stick to try and hook the rope swing before grabbing it and swinging out across the water!
- Walked up to Manning Falls again, this time in the early morning. We were the first people there and we had it to ourselves for the whole hour we were there! After jumping off the rocks we swam behind the waterfall and watched the sun come up from behind the cliff-it looked awesome!!

- Set up, got bitten a hundred times by march flies, and quickly drove to Bell Gorge!
At Bell Gorge we:
- Walked up to the falls and jumped in, it was really slippery so we spent the whole time ‘surfing’ down the slime on the rocks!!
We spent a wonderful afternoon at Bell Gorge with our friends!
