Big Red Bash to Katherine – Highlights:
- Swimming in the refreshing pool at Bedourie and my first rinse off for a while.
- Marvelling at how brave the bull and bronco riders were at the Bedourie Rodeo, while watching them get thrown off the bulls and horses they were trying to stay on!
- Cooking damper in a damper making competition at the Bedourie Camel Races.
- Watching the camel races- the jockeys had to sit right behind the hump on the camels and it looked like they were about to slide off the back!
- Cheering on the pigs that were also racing at the Bedourie Camel Races (the fast pigs had raced all around Australia, and even in Bundalong!).
- Playing with my poi balls at our beautiful campsite on top of a rocky mountain.
- Running around at the awesome playground at Mt Isa.
- Relaxing in the shade of the beautiful eucalyptus trees at our campsite on Camooweal Billabong- where we stayed for 2 nights.
- Exploring the Daly Waters Pub and all the interesting mementos that people had left behind (this included driver’s licenses, number plate, hats, badges, stickers, cards, shoes and even BRAS!!).

At Kathrine, Jackson and I spent most of our time in the
pool-diving, swimming and doing handstands. We also went down to the river
where I cut my feet heaps when Jackson and I went down the rapids-there was
some really sharp rocks! Early one morning we went down to the beautiful hot
springs that were just down the road from where we were staying, they were so
warm. Jackson and I had heaps of fun floating down the stream with the
current. On our last night there we went out to the Katherine Speedway-heaps of cars were
competing for the NT Sedan Titles so there were some really good races.
