Week 60- Sunday 23rd - Sunday 30th July

Arnhem Land, NT

Day Eight, Day Nine and Day Ten

Gove Boat Club

Star Rating:★★

★=Full Star=Half a Star

We were at the Boat Club for the whole three days-but we didn’t do much as it was SUPER windy!!!!! We did have dinner out two days in a row as the camp kitchen was open and all the wind swept in, making it impossible to cook. The first night we went out for dinner at the Boat Club's restaurant, where I got a mega burger! The second night we went to Latitude 12, which was a restaurant in town-I got a pizza. We spent our days at East Woody Beach (where Dad and Jackson caught some fish), Yirrkula Art Centre (it was awesome) and other places in the area.

There was a massive tree that Jackson and I really enjoyed climbing.

Day Eleven

Goanna Lagoon

Our next camp spot was Goanna Lagoon (where we stopped for a swim on the way to Little Bondi), Jackson and I had a great two days in the water-we didn’t want to get out! We spent the first day making white clay and painting ourselves with it!

There was a rope swing near our camp- we had heaps of fun on it.

Day Twelve

Goanna Lagoon

As soon as we woke up we were in the water! After spending ages swimming in the waterhole near camp we went exploring and found some really nice swimming holes-one was a narrow channel of water that was running through a slit of rock. You could swim/float through the channel and it was really fun-even though we got a LOT of scratches, scrapes and bruises!

Even though we got lots of grazes from the rough rocks we had heaps of fun swimming through the crack in the rock.

Day Thirteen

Rainbow Cliffs

It was stinking hot at Rainbow Cliffs-we all wished we could swim! We spent most of the day moving our chairs around to try and find a bit of shade. That afternoon we played some games before sitting out on the cliff to watch the sunset.

Day Fourteen

Rainbow Cliffs

It was still stinky hot but in the morning Mum and I went up for a walk to have a look at the actual Rainbow Cliff-it was awesome! I also took a great liking to the lizards that roamed our camp. I started catching them and they were so cute!! They climbed all over me and played lots of little tricks on me, such as....at one point I had a lizard on my hand and I bent down to get something. The cheeky lizard jumped onto my chair and hid in the little enclosure I made for it whilst I spent five minutes looking for it! Later in the afternoon we jumped in the car and went for a swim at Goanna Lagoon. That night we watched the sunset from the cliff again.

The next morning we walked up to Rainbow Cliff again and watched the sun rise.
